Operation Rice Bowl: As part of our faith community’s Lenten observance, we will participate in Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten program, Operation Rice Bowl. Since 1975, Operation Rice Bowl has inspired Catholics in the United States to pray, fast, learn and give as we increase our understanding of our global community. We will connect this understanding with principles of Catholic Social Teaching throughout our Lent journey. We encourage you to participate in Operation Rice Bowl at home with your family and loved ones. Operation Rice Bowl material will be distributed next weekend at all the Masses.

What is Catholic Relief Services (CRS)? Established in 1943, CRS is the official international humanitarian agency of the U.S. Catholic community. The fundamental motivating force of CRS is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That motivation compels the agency to alleviate human suffering, to foster justice and charity, and to enhance the development of peoples around the world. CRS provides assistance on the bases of need, not creed, race, or ethnicity. To learn more, please visit www.crs.org.
